In the handful of years Alex has been riding, I’ve been lucky enough to know him for the past few. In that short time, we’ve ended up everywhere from Canada to New Zealand and plenty of places in between. No matter where we land, he somehow clicks with the landscape or the park almost instantly, even when he swears he doesn’t. He’ll lap a line until it’s perfect, then watch the video back and decide it wasn’t good enough, just to do it all over again. The precision is wild, but it’s wrapped in this effortless style that makes even the hardest stuff look casual. The amplitude alone can stop you in your tracks, but it’s the way he owns every spot, like it was built for him that day, that sticks with you. And for someone who’s “supposed” to be good at little bikes, he still manages to show me up on the big ones too.
